Why Mexico City?
Mexico City, the City of Palaces
The City of Palaces is a nickname that is nearly 300 years old. The Spanish in Mexico were obsessed with building palaces to show off their wealth and strength. The nickname came from the German explorer Alexander von Humboldt who visited Mexico City in the late 18th century. He became so impressed with all the palaces that he gave the city this iconic alias. The main palaces are: Castillo de Chapultepec, Palace of Iturbide, Palacio Nacional and Palacio de Bellas Artes.
CAFÉS
My favorite cafés in Mexico City
Panaderia Rosetta
A delicious cafeteria founded by renowned chef Elena Reygadas. At the bakery, it’s all about guava pastry, the cardamom bun, and the chocolate-vanilla concha (sweet roll with a cookie crust).

It's cosy! Not always easy to get a seat but it's such a cute place. The food is always tasty and the staff is very friendly.
Cafebrería El Péndulo
